Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Do I have to hold my space and pay for office time I don’t really need?

We have options for you to hold your own desk space or office, however we also offer day passes where you can come in just for the days you need. You can book either one day at a time, 10 days a month, 10 days over 3 months, or full time.

Do I need to pay a security bond to Cowork?

No, there are no security bonds required at Platypus Coworking. We just need your contact details and vaccine confirmation and you can Cowork with us as you need to.

Is it secure?  What if I need to leave my things there for a while?

Our office is considered secure, and we have a Concierge on site most of the time. Our private office options are lockable, desks are open. However, if you aren’t confident you can use one of our complimentary lockers to keep your valuables secure while you pop out, and encourage their use if you wish to leave things overnight without stress.

Will I be able to concentrate?  Is it loud?

Whilst there can be a bit of a hum from phone conversations and the tapping of keyboards, it is generally pretty quiet. We play some quiet background music, and people are spaced well apart. There are private zoom rooms and meeting rooms to pop into and breakout spaces for louder conversations. Because Coworkers understand Coworking we find they are understanding of not disturbing others.

Is it clean and Covid safe?

We follow all of the Covid rules, including checking in, vaccination status checking, and social distancing. Our office has never been cleaner as we wipe surfaces regularly, and clean daily. We don’t want any of our Coworkers to get sick, so we do everything we can to make sure that Platypus Coworking is clean and safe.

What are your operating hours?

Our private offices and dedicated desk members have 24 hour access to Platypus Coworking. Day Pass workers can be here anytime between 9am and 5pm and should book in advance, particularly as we expect to be busy in the new year.

What do I need to bring with me?

We have the Wifi, printer, tea, coffee milo and herbal teas, microwave, fridge, desks, bathrooms, heating, air conditioning and power.

You need to bring your working tools – computer, paper, pens, phone etc. Most people bring a bit of motivation with them and then find more when they are working here. People often find a fair bit of productivity at Coworking also.

What type of Businesses use Coworking?

There isn’t a type. We have small and large businesses, entrepreneurs and sole traders, Government organisations and Regional employees for large Corporates. People who need to use an office for working to maintain a professional space without the stress will use Coworking spaces. The best way to see if it works for you is to come and try it out. Use our “Try Us Free” button to have a go.

Is Coworking good for the environment?

Because people are sharing resources and working from a shared office space, Coworking is generally good for the environment. Many people also now use Coworking spaces instead of commuting to centralised office spaces which saves fuel and emissions. At Platypus Coworking we also use environmentally friendly resources such as toilet paper and tissues and encourage recycling and composting. We are also supporters of environmentally friendly initiatives such as Fifteen Trees. We are always happy to discuss how we can do more.

Can I come and see your space before I decide to Cowork there?

Of course you can, please book a tour via the Contact Us button on our website or pop in and see us between 9 am and 5 pm. We enjoy showing people around Platypus Coworking. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for our Platypuses.

If you would like to try Coworking please use the Try Us Free button and we will show you around when you come in.
