Tell us about Trevilla Engineering & Design
Trevilla Engineering is a privately owned and operated Australian Engineering Company, established in 2011. We are based in Ballarat, Newcastle and Mackay. Our customers include Caterpillar, Nepean Mining, Orica, BHP, Boral, Alcoa, Sanitarium, Brent Owen (master chef winner), CSIRO & Ausgrid to just name a few.
We specialise in Mechanical and Structural Engineering, Design & Drafting, Project Management, Asset & Risk Management, Corrosion Inspection and Reporting and 3D Laser Scanners (for reverse engineering)
Who’s in the team?
There’s me, three mechanical/structural designers and 4 mechanical/structural engineers.
What have been your biggest achievements in the past twelve months?
We have some really exciting projects underway at the moment.
We have been working on a project designing equipment for the CSIRO. We are in discussions with Race Cars Australia (V8 Super Cars) to scan various race cars and parts for scrutineering and we are waiting on the Aurora Australis to dock in Hobart in late March when we will be 3D laser scanning the engine hull for a ship rebuilder.
What’s Next for Trevilla Engineering & Design?
My plan is to expand the company further. We currently have two projects in mining and agriculture for which we are seeking funding and if we get the go ahead we will be researching, designing and manufacturing a prototype for each project. It will be a very busy 1 to 2 years!
And what do you do when you’re not at work?
Anything outdoors. Motorbikes (I have two, a Harley custom 48 and a BMW 1200 Adventurer). I’m also in the process of restoring my old 1948 Ford F1 Truck.
